The art of swordsmanship, known as iaido, is one of the most solitary and beautiful of Japanese martial arts.  The total concentration and intense awareness developed through the performance of precise and elegant iaido forms aid in the development of mental and physical discipline.

The dynamism and precision of training in classical Japanese weapons forms enhance and complement aikido practice.  The use of the bokken (wooden sword) and jo (wooden staff) in practice aids the development of correct posture, timing and reflex reactions.
