Aikido

合気道

Aikido is a Japanese martial art. With a profound philosophy rooted in non-violence, respect for life, self control and discipline, aikido offers a perfect system of self defense. Through practice, students acquire not only physical skills, but also the capacity to maintain equanimity and tranquility in situations of crisis and stress in any area of life, at home, at work, or on the street.

Aikido is non-competitive and may be practiced equally well by people of all genders, throughout their lives. Beyond self defense, aikido is also a means towards the education and formation of oneself. It is a way of life.

Iaido

居合道

The art of swordsmanship, known as iaido, is among the most solitary and beautiful of Japanese martial arts. The total concentration and intense awareness experienced through performing the iaido forms can help develop mental and physical discipline.

Weapons Training

Training in classical Japanese weapons forms can enhance and complement aikido practice. With a focus on dynamism and precision, practice with the bokken (wooden sword) and jo (wooden staff) helps to develop correct posture, timing, and reactions.

Children’s Classes

Aikido is a powerful aid in the formation of character, confidence, and self discipline in children. Students gain basic physical conditioning and coordination, and respect for peers and family.
